“We Can Eradicate Malaria From Nigeria”, Prince Ned Nwoko Insists

The move to fight Malaria, a fast killer ailment in Nigeria and the African continent, has been reiterated.

The reassurance was given Monday by the Initiator, Eradicate Malaria Programme, Dr. Prince Ned Nwoko, when the leadership and members of the Indigenous Correspondents’ Chapel (ICC), paid him a courtesy call in his Idumuje-Igboko, country home, Aniocha north local government area of Delta State.

The philanthropist, hinted that Malaria, is the biggest killer disease in Africa, saying that 500, 000 people die annually from the disease, with 80 percent from Africa.

He disclosed that his desire to eradicate the scourge, was borne out of his craving to help humanity, stressing that not many parents have the financial wherewithal to buy Malaria drugs or treat their children of Malaria.

“It is about humanity, helping those who cannot help themselves. All I am doing is to lead the campaign, we need everybody’s support. We can eradicate Malaria completely from Nigeria”, he maintained.

He disclosed that if there is any part of the River Bank, especially in the Niger Delta that need dredging in order to intensify his fight against Malaria Eradication, he would be glad to do so.

According to the former House of Representatives member, the fight against Malaria and ensuring his people live a better life was part of his plans for the Senate to represent Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly (NASS), for effective representation.

Hear him: “If I was elected as the Senator, that will have been part of the things to do. I have seen many villages around the bank. It is heart wrecking. I am sure that one day, it would be done”, he assured.

Speaking on the Sports Technology Arts  Sciences (STARS) University, he said, his dream is to produce not only paper graduates but people who would excel and compete favourably with their counterparts anywhere in the world.

“The University is going to be a unique one that will provide education for future Stars by getting them young between the ages of 15 and 16 years, at their prime.

“So that when they compete in their chosen career and we give them the needed support, they will be the best that anybody can be.

“By the time you are done here, you will be a member of a Club and complete anywhere in the world”, Prince Nwoko, insisted.

Earlier, Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Andrew Akpo Emefia, congratulated the STAR Prince, on his well deserved recognition by the Delta State University (DESUL), Abraka, as the recipient for the Distinguished Service Award.

“There is no award that is bestowed on you that is not well deserved”, the articulate and Jolly Good Fellow ICC Chairman, told the radiant Prince.

He hinted him of the desire of the Chapel to collaborate with him on his Eradicate Malaria Programme in three pilot local government councils in the state.

Comrade Emephia, listed the councils to include, Warri south, Ughelli south and Aniocha north which were well selected and have a touch from the three senatorial districts just as he prayed God to give him the strength to continue in the good works.
