IG Withdraws Police Attached To Delta Reps Member, Former APC Candidate, 58 Others

As Nigerians are still expressing worries over the refusal of the police to return to the highways to continue their routine patrol of roads and checkmating criminality, orderlies attached to moneybags and corporate organizations have been withdrawn.


In a circular dated Wednesday 4th November 2020, signed by the Principal Staff Officer, DCP Idowu Owohunwa, the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, expressed concerned that his initial directives was not carried out.

According to the letter with serial No. CB: 4001/IGP.SEC/ABJ/VOL. 116/32, said: “The attention of the Inspector General of Police has been drawn to the fact that the police personnel attached to the underlisted corporate bodies and personalities are yet to be withdrawn in spite of extant directives to that effect”.

The Inspector General of Police, had withdrawn the orderlies attached to the member, Federal House of Representatives, representing Patani/Bomadi federal Constituency in the Lower Chambers of the National Assembly (NASS), Nicholas Mutu.

Mutu, is No.9, on the underlisted personalities whose orderlies were withdrawn by the IGP.

Also, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the 2019 general elections, for Isoko Federal Constituency, Mr. Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, is No. 56, on the list.

The letter warned that all PMF, SPU, CPU and all conventional police operatives attached to the above listed companies and individuals in any of their locations across the country should be withdrawn with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, the Inspector General, has given not later than Tuesday 10th November 2020, for the submission of a detailed report, attaching the ranks and names of all the personnel withdrawn including the locations they were withdrawn from.

However, reasons why the order and directives was issued was not contained in the letter.

At press time, call and text message put across to the cellphone of the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), DCP Frank Mba, to get details of the withdrawal were not responded to.
