The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), has released its timetable and schedule of activities in early preparation for the July 13, 2024, local government election in Delta State.
This was disclosed during a press briefing by the State chairman of the party, Olorogun Barr. Kingsley Esiso on Thursday May 8 2024, at the party’s Secretariat in Asaba, the State capital.
He asked leaders, critical stakeholders, aspirants, teeming members and supporters of the party in the State to work together for the task ahead.
Olorogun Esiso, disclosed that the process would commence from Friday May 10 to Wednesday May 15, 2024 with the sales of forms to aspirants.
According to the time table made available to journalists, reads: “Submission of Completed forms will take place from: Thursday, 16th May to Saturday 18th May, 2024
“Screening of aspirants will hold from: Saturday 19th May to Monday 20th May 2024.
“Appeals arising from screening Tuesday, 21st May, 2024.
“Ward Congresses to elect Councillorship candidates and 3 Ad-hoc delegates Friday, 24th May, 2024
“Appeals arising from Councillorship primaries and 3 Ward Ad-hoc delegates election Saturday, May 25th, 2024
“Party Primaries for Chairmen will hold on Saturday, May 25th, 2024
“Party Run-off primaries (if any) after chairmanship primaries will hold on Sunday, May 26th, 2024.
“Consideration of Appeals arising from Chairmanship primary will take place on Sunday, May 26th, 2024”.
The state party chairman assured all intending aspirants that the party would provide a level playing for all and conduct a free, fair, transparent and credible process.
He charged intending aspirants and their supporters to be disciplined and maintain law and order and the highest sense of decorum as they participate in all the process to ensure only the best and most capable will emerge to represent the PDP in the July 13, 2024 Local Government elections.
