THE STORY BREAKING NEWS: Delta Receives 85, 700 Dose Of Covid-19 Vaccines

Eighty-five thousand seven hundred dose of Covid-19 Vaccines have been airlifted to Delta State through the Asaba airport.

The 85, 700 COVID-19 vaccines, were received on Thursday 11th March 2021, by the Delta state government for onward distribution to the 25 local government areas across the state.

According to the Chairman, Delta State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Isioma Okobah, priority would be given to the administration of the distributed vaccines to all frontline workers, comprising healthcare workers both in the public and private sectors, in the first phase of the vaccination campaign.

General hospitals across the state would be designated posts for the vaccination of healthcare workers while temporary posts yet to be determined would be set up for other non-medical frontline workers, comprising the security and correctional services.

Speaking further, the Chairman disclosed that the vaccine would be administered to people from 18 and above and advised pregnant and lactating mothers to seek the counsel of their healthcare providers before seeking to be vaccinated.
