Covid-19 Cases Hit 19, 808 In Nigeria, As Delta, Rivers Governors Lament Increase

Cases of Coronavirus has risen up to 19, 808 in Nigeria with Lagos, Rivers and Delta States taking first, second and third positions respectively.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made the disclosure Saturday night with 661 new cases.

According to NCDC, Lagos-230, Rivers-127, Delta-83, FCT-60, Oyo-51, Edo-31, Bayelsa-27, Kaduna-25, Plateau-13, Ondo-6, Nasarawa-3, Ekiti-2, Kano-2 and Borno-1.

The country have 6, 718 discharged cases and 506 deaths.

Meanwhile, the Delta state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and his Rivers State counterpart, Nyesom Wike, have lamented the increase in their states.

Okowa blamed Deltans and residents for the hike for not obeying precautionary measures put in place to prevent the disease.

On the other hand, Wike, has lockdown Bonny local government council and Onne Community in Leme local government area for the increase in Covid-19 cases.
