Prowess International School Okpanam, an award-winning and famous Montessori within the Asaba capital territory, has celebrated its Parents in a programme tagged “Proud Prowess Parents’ Hangout 2024”, held at the popular Triggs Event Centre, off Okpanam Road on Saturday 24th February, 2024.

The Management of the school speaking through its Director, Mrs. Chinwe Dike, said it thought it wise to celebrate the ever loving parents who never gave them any troubles, insisting that the Hangout was worth it and would continue as a prominent programme of the school.

She said the maiden edition was experimental, but however, had proven worthy of continuity in order to progress the school’s bonding with the parents.

The school’s Head Teacher, Mrs. Elizabeth Aboghai in addition to the Director’s speech, appreciated the parents for their support and cooperation in helping the school realise its vision and mission of taking the next generation of leaders higher in their academics with a view to making their parents have value for their investment.

She said, “As parents, your involvement and support are invaluable in ensuring the success and well-being of your children. Your continued engagement in your child’s education, understanding of our school’s vision and values, and partnership with teachers form the foundation for a thriving learning environment.

“Our mission at Prowess School is to raise societal crusaders who through quality basic education would be role models of right attitude and value that would transform the nation. Through a holistic approach to education, we aim to cultivate well rounded individuals who are equipped with the knowledge, skills and values to navigate an ever changing world with confidence and integrity”, Aboghai stated.

Apart from other fun giving activities of the day, the school also brought in two resource persons who gave talks on Health and Parenting respectively.

Dr. Adegbolu Daniel, a Gynaecologist with FMC Asaba, gave a discussion induced lecture on Menopause while Mrs. Faithful Otis, an Accountant with the Delta State Pensions Office discussed Parenting vis-a-vis the best modern approach to adopt to connect with the child whilst weaning him or her to get the best behaviour out of him or her.

It was indeed a funfair extraordinaire with the celebration hall filled to the brim with parents and teachers. In addition, sumptuous meal was served with more than enough to drink; while the parents and teachers exhibited their dancing skills on the floor.
