OKUAMA UPDATE: Military Spares Anglican Church, Town Hall, Levelled Other Buildings

Latest information reaching The Story, news desk, has it that only two buildings are currently standing in Okuama, a coastal community located in Ughelli south local government Area of Delta State.

The Nigerian army launched a manhunt for the perpetrators behind the killing of 17 soldiers.

While this went on, newest update from the community says the building belonging to the Anglican Church, was favoured by the angry military personnel who laid siege on the community since 15th March 2024

Also spared, is the community’s Town hall, a source privy to the happenings in the community said on Sunday 31st March 2024.

The source who disclosed that contrary to claims that the military moved two swamp buggies to the community, said the Nigerian military, moved in three swamp buggies to the besieged Okuoma community.

The source claimed that apart from the two buildings mentioned above, all other houses were levelled to the ground.

It was gathered that the was completely razed by angry soldiers on Friday, just as several civilians including children have been reported killed in the rampage.
