A member of St. Mathias Anglican Church, Ughelli, Mr. Christian Obayando, has joined other christian faithful from across Delta State to celebrate the appointment of Sir Festus Ahon as the Chief Press Secretary to the Delta State Governor and his successful thanksgiving held on Sunday August 20th 2023.
Ahon, who was the Correspondent of Vanguard newspaper and ex-officio, (national), Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), was picked by the governor as his mouthpiece.
Speaking during an interview at the Thanksgiving Service held at St. Mathias Anglican Church, Mr. Obayando, thanked all for coming to rejoice with the Chief Press Secretary.
“I must thank all those who came to rejoice with the Chief Press Secretary and also for coming to rejoice with his family and the entire Church”.
Obayando congratulated Sir Ahon, and reminded him that he should use the opportunity given to him, to serve the Church and humanity.
“As I congratulate Ahon, his wife and family, the greatest joy you can give to God, is to ensure you help the less privilege in the society.
“That is the only thing you can truly do to give God joy for giving you the opportunity to get this highly respected office”, he said.
