Defection from PDP not contemplated – Oghenesivbe

Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq, has said that he does not intend to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, anytime soon.

He gave the assurance during a phone-in live radio programe on Wednesday, in Lagos, pointing out that transmission of power in the Coalition for Media Politics and Governance, CMPG, was to enable him focus on pressing personal issues, and to also bring on board young and dynamic persons with fresh ideas to take the media pressure group to the next enviable level.

He said the clarification became necessary to put to rest rumours making the rounds that he stepped aside as Chairman of CMPG, to pave the way for his defection from PDP to another political party in Delta State.

Oghenesivbe said the State governor, Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E agenda will obviously Advance Delta and impact on the wellbeing of citizens, adding that as one of those folks who worked tirelessly to project the governor’s agenda during his electioneering campaigns, he shall continue to support him and his administration.

“The M.O.R.E agenda is achievable. All hands must be on deck to make it a reality. The governor has the capacity to drive his policies, programmes and electionering campaign promises to fruition.

“The picture will become clearer once the state executive council is constituted in the next couple of days, things will begin to take shape.

“In response to your question, let me make it abundantly clear that the transmission of leadership in CMPG has nothing to do with rumoured defection. I am not defecting to any political party, not now, not in the near future.

Yes, there are issues with my delayed appointment, but am pretty sure it shall be resolved by the grace of God. That lacuna will not make me to defect to another party. I am sure there will be light at the end of the tunnel.

“The governor is a good man, a consummate leader and father to all Deltans. He sees what we cannot see. I believe everything will fall in place, God willing,” Oghenesivbe said.
