… As Deceased’s Family Reject Corps

The Warri family of Okoloba Community in Bomadi local government area of Delta State, has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of a family member simply identified as Mrs. Sandra.

Trouble started on Monday 1st March 2021, when the deceased went to meet her Uncle, a commercial driver, one Mr. Ebis Warri, over alleged unpaid debt own by the Uncle at the Bomadi Waterside.

It was learnt that the Uncle, Mr. Ebis, allegedly had a fight with the mother of the deceased earlier over a yet to be disclosed reasons before going to work which led Mrs. Sandra, the daughter to storm the park without the knowledge of the Uncle.

It was learnt that as at the time deceased arrived at the park, Mr. Ebis Warri, was bid to travel to Onitsha, Anambra State, quickly jumped into his car when he sighted his late cousin to avoid a second round of fisticuff.

It was gathered that the late Sandra allegedly made her way into the driver’s side and was struggling with his Uncle on the steering while the yet to be identified car was on motion.

Luck ran out on her when she fell off the vehicle in a bid for the Uncle to escape, her head was purportedly smashed against the pavement, killing her on the spot.

It was gathered that the deceased’s younger sister who went to the police to make entry to effect the arrest Mr. Ebis Warri, over the free-for-all, on her arrival to the park, met her sister in the pool of her blood.

It was gathered that Mr. Ebis, had embarked on his journey to Onitsha without the knowledge of his Cousin’s death.

The late Mrs. Sandra’s maternal family from Akugbene Community has angrily sent the corps from the mortuary to Okoloba Community where Mr. Ebis Warri is from, warning that they can’t sit down and watch someone kill thier daughter in cold blood.

Late Mrs. Sandra, who got married late last year, has lived in Bomadi Community for years has a drinking spot opposite Royal City Church and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).

Contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Edafe Bright, who confirmed the incident, said: “I can confirm that it actually happened”.
