A 32-year-old man, Mr. Chigbo Akpoluobi, has been nabbed for purportedly defiling a 7-year-old girl in Anambra State.
The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, Mr. John Abang, who spoke through the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Anambra State Command, SP Haruna Muhammed, disclosed that his arrest followed a rip-off.
The Police image maker hinted that Police operatives attached to Okpoko Division arrested Mr. Akpoluobi, 32 years old native of Asa village in Ohaji Egbema local government area of Imo State but reside at Ubodukwu road Nkitaku, Okpoko.
According to the police, the suspect allegedly lured a 7 years old girl (name withheld), to his rented apartment on the and defiled her.
SP Haruna revealed that the Scene was visited by police detectives for a first hand information, stressing that the victim has been taken to the hospital for medical examination.
Haruna further hinted that the suspect has voluntarily confessed to the offence, the Police boss, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal investigation Department, Awka for discreet investigation, after which the suspect would be charged to court for prosecution.
