BREAKING NEWS: Fubara Faces Fresh Crisis In Rivers

Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, is facing renewed hostility as tensions escalate in the state’s ongoing political crisis.

In a viral video making the rounds on social media Saturday, a group of unidentified youths was captured vandalizing a massive roadside billboard featuring Fubara and his close ally, Chijioke Ihunwo, the former Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

The exact location of the incident remains unclear, but the destruction took place in broad daylight and appeared coordinated.

The billboard, prominently positioned by a major road, was methodically torn apart while the perpetrators gave verbal instructions and exchanged pleasantries.

“Even from the down, tear it from that side, it will come down. I will bring the new one,” one of the youths said, directing others during the act.

A female voice is also heard in the background as another youth climbs the structure to strip away the display material.

In the nearly three-minute footage, the group continues removing what appears to be thick, printed canvas until the billboard stands bare, stripped of all political imagery.

This latest provocation is widely seen as part of the ongoing power struggle between Governor Fubara and his estranged political mentor, Nyesom Wike, now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

The rift between the two has plunged Rivers State into a sustained period of political turbulence, with supporters on both sides becoming increasingly emboldened.

As the situation unfolds, observers fear that such open acts of defiance may signal a deeper unraveling of political order in the state, raising concerns about security and governance in the months ahead.
