April 27, 2025, marked a transformative moment for the Owhodokpokpor-Ogor community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, as 500 women were officially enrolled into the Delta State Contributory Health Scheme.

The enrollment, sponsored by the Executive Director of Finance and Administration at the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, Hon. Kelly Emuoghenerue Oghenekevwe, provides the beneficiaries with one year of free access to quality healthcare services.

Dr. Akpoveta emphasized that the initiative aligns with the goals of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, which prioritizes inclusive health coverage and social development across Delta State.

He urged community members to remain supportive of the Governor’s policies aimed at improving livelihoods.

In his remarks, Hon. Oghenekevwe expressed gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for creating the enabling environment that allows private citizens to contribute meaningfully to public welfare through initiatives such as the Indigent Enrollee Adoption Scheme.

He also lauded the leadership of the Health Commission for its strategic implementation of the program.
