… as land audit scandal rocks Delta community

Obodogba Community in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State is in uproar as concerned residents stage a peaceful protest, demanding the immediate intervention of the Delta State Government and relevant security agencies in what they describe as a prolonged abuse of trust and blatant disregard for transparency by Mr. Samuel Morah and his team at FISAM KONSULT NIGERIA LIMITED.

The protesters are calling for an immediate halt to all auditing activities being carried out by the consultancy firm on community lands and are demanding a comprehensive account of all land transactions audited by the firm since 2022.

Speaking during the protest, notable community figures including former Youth Chairman Mr. Uche Nwaedozie, former Assistant Secretary Mr. Esmond O. Ijeh, and Vice President of Okpanam Youth, Comrade Chukwudi Abumujor, expressed deep dissatisfaction with the conduct of FISAM KONSULT.

They revealed that the firm was originally engaged in 2022 to audit land transactions and provide quarterly reports to the community, a responsibility that has been completely neglected for over two years.

The community leaders allege that instead of fulfilling their mandate, Mr. Morah and certain complicit individuals within the community have engaged in unauthorized land sales and irregular allocations, profiting at the expense of the collective interest of Obodogba.

“It’s no longer an audit exercise, it’s a coordinated land-grab scheme,” one protester declared.

Furthermore, the protesters claim that rather than responding to legitimate inquiries, Mr. Morah and his associates have resorted to intimidation tactics, including threats, harassment, and the filing of malicious petitions against community members with security agencies, including the Delta State Commissioner of Police.

COMMUNITY CALLS FOR URGENT GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION

In a unified voice, the aggrieved residents are urging the Delta State Government and all relevant investigative bodies to launch a full-scale, impartial investigation into the activities of FISAM KONSULT NIGERIA LIMITED.

Their aim: to expose and put an end to what they describe as a systematic betrayal of public trust, and to prevent a looming breakdown of law and order in the area.

> “We demand justice, transparency, and accountability. This community will not be silenced”, Protest leaders emphasized.
