Asaba, Delta State – The Environmental Task Force of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA) has apprehended a 14-year-old boy for allegedly dumping refuse within the premises of the Ibori Golf Club.

The arrest, which occurred late last night, was confirmed by Mr. Isaac Nwosu, Head of Environment at DSCTDA.

He stated that the suspect was caught in the act and has since been handed over to authorities at the GRA Police Station, following the identification of his residence.

“The suspect was apprehended for the illegal dumping of waste,” Nwosu said. “He is currently in custody, and steps are being taken to obtain a court order to seal the residence where he lives. He will also be arraigned in court without delay.”

Reacting to the incident, the Director General of DSCTDA, Mr. Patrick Ukah, issued a strong warning to the public, reiterating the agency’s zero-tolerance stance on environmental violations.

“Let this serve as a clear warning: the agency will not tolerate any act that threatens our environment,” Ukah declared. “Anyone found violating DSCTDA’s environmental regulations will face the full weight of the law.”

He further encouraged all residents within the capital territory to practice responsible waste disposal by registering with the designated Private Sector Participation (PSP) operators in their respective areas.

DSCTDA continues to intensify efforts toward maintaining environmental sanitation and sustainability in the state capital.
